Welcome to What Are You Working On? where we talk about (and often display) our handiwork, whether yarn and fabric crafts, woodwork, metalwork, art, or anything else “crafty”.
I do a variety of crafts: quilting, knitting, embroidery, writing and occasionally weaving. This makes for a need to a large craft room. Don’t have one. My craft room is 9’ by 10’. I know that’s larger than some people’s, but a bit small for me. So I have to work out how to work with the space I’ve got.
Two main concepts: repurpose and go vertical.
The picture above shows an entertainment cabinet. My hubby added some more shelves and it is an excellent space.
Going vertical includes shelves over shelves and using pegboard for smaller item that might get lost. The picture below shows both. A smaller shelf with thread and specialty pins, and a larger shelf with thread and irons. Yes, it is messy. I do clean it up occasionally. Just not as much lately.

Also small cabinets. I got this one when a quilter passed. She had a few Amish made cabinets. I took measurements, and this one would fit. Also note the corner also has storage. Angled so the drawers can be pulled out.

Below, beneath a bit of clutter, is my light wafer and main work area. I use baskets to hold far too many patterns, and again shelves and boxes on boxes. Yes, messy just now. I could clean up or do the diary.

And closets with shelves of course, and don’t forget the inside of the doors.

My fabric storage is a bit more messy than usual. Just finished a quilt for a niece and am working on 3 more quilts. I should just work on one project at a time, but that’s not me.
Also don’t forget the sides of cabinets.

I hope I have provided some helpful ideas on craft storage.
