I am old enough, 72, to remember quite clearly the time before Roe V Wade. There were many aspects that were bad, but one of the worst was the financial inequality. I had a wonderful aunt who in her early 20s (1950s) went to Switzerland twice. I never gave it a lot of thought, but later I learned it was for safe abortions. My grandparents had the money to send her there. A poorer person wouldn't have had that option. Safe abortions for those who can afford to travel.
Another aspect of this what will be coming is contraception. My second eldest sister had 4 kids and a drunk for a husband. The process to have tubal ligation was long and a judge was the only one who could decide if a woman could have this. My sister had to have her priest and doctor both testify in court that it was necessary. The judgement came two days after she had her 5th child. She had been home 1 day. Therefore she could have had sex (Really?) and theoretically be pregnant. The only way she could have the tubal ligation was after child #6, directly after birth in the hospital. Which is what happened. And #6 is loved and cherished because this was never about her. It is about a woman's right to control her body and destiny.
That's how it was. This is what is coming. Judges and money controlling our lives and bodies. If that doesn't scare you, you have very little imagination.
