DK Quilt Guild: A place for quilters to gather, share ideas, projects, and to make the world a better place, one quilt at a time. Join us and share your thoughts, projects, questions, and tips. Quilters here are at many different levels of skill. Beginners and non-quilters are welcome, too.

We NEED diarists! Your diary can be elaborate and full of photos, a simple story of your own quilting history or that of someone you love, a discussion of a current project or a technique you're learning, new adventures... You could post quilt retreat-day recipes (things like crockpot meals, so food appears without much attention from you)... We could do show and tell or open thread, also, but either way, we need diarists to host. It is EASY if you're willing to take the chance.

Diary Schedule

10/10 — OPEN

10/17 — OPEN

10/24 — OPEN

This isn’t the diary I planned, but a fractured right wrist puts a crimp in typing. Slightly less than 2 more weeks the splint comes off and I try moving my wrist a bit. Maybe PT, maybe not.

I’m going to post some quilts I may have posted before or maybe not. The quilt above I did for my brother for his 71st birthday. It is all quilted and bound now and I gave it to him two days ago and forgot to take a pic of the finished front and back. I’ll post that next week. The squares on the sides incorporate many of his interests: cats, fishing, knights and castles.

As I have said before I like combining embroidery on quits. This is an Autumn piece I did last year.

Another one from that series. This one still needs some work.

The last wall hanging I worked on I want to do  a lot of thread painting which hasn’t happened yet

.

I also have some small pieces I’m not sure what I’ll do with. Just playing around.

And I am slowly working on a lap quilt that will be all embroidered squares. 24 in total. I’ve got a lot of work to do there. Designer is Gail Pan.

As you can see, like so many of us, working on too many projects at once.

What quilts are you working on?
